The Jared Thatcher Story Being a fifth-generation Oregonian means something to
Jared. He has lived in our communities, graduated from our schools,
volunteered with our neighbors, started a business in Oregon, and is raising his
family here (together with his wife, Anna, they are raising two boys, Andrew [7]
and John [4] ).
As an Eagle
Scout, Jared led many service projects that benefited the elderly, the poor, and
the environment. He served as a missionary in Japan. He graduated
from Canby High School, then from Clackamas Community College and from Portland State University.
While in college he worked as a medical interpreter and he
worked with at-risk youth. He has seen first hand the problems facing our families
when drugs, abuse and poverty are directed towards our children.
Currently, Jared is the managing director of Oregon Contractors Association and an estimator and construction worker for
KT Contracting Co., a highway road
construction company. Jared is
one of us, and will fight for the issues that we care about.
